The Hitman franchise has been a huge moneymaker in the videogame, industry, so it was only a matter of time before it was turned into a movie.
Vin Deisel was attached to the role for some time, then a few other names popped up briefly. Finally, Timothy Olyphant was named to the leading role of Agent 47, a genetically-engineered assassin.
Olyphant can also be seen in the upcoming 4th Die Hard, and had a regular role on the HBO series Deadwood. Although hardcore Hitman fans were firmly against The Deisel, I gotta say Timmy ain’t exactly blowing me away in these pics. Shouldn’t he look more like, um, A BADASS?
The Hitman movie is being produced by Luc Besson (so far so good) and directed by Xavier Gens (never heard of ‘em). Dougray Scott is also signed on as the main villain–you might remember him as the villain in Mission Impossible 2. Is that really the kind of comparison they want to draw?
I have to admit I’ve played a few of the Hitman games, and frankly they were outstanding. True to the title, you basically got to plot various assassinations. But given the track record of movies based on video games (Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Doom, Bloodrayne, need I go on?) none of us should get our hopes up. I guess if anyone can bail this one out of the $1.99 dvd bin, it’s Besson.
With my luck, the trailer will feature some sort of heist and I’ll be locked in. Bastards.

I kno what you meen, he doesn’t look hard enough on those pics however if U look up a few other pics of him U can see the potencial psycotic killer!
I love the hitman series and would hate for the film to flop…
I think all the 47 fans out there are just hoping that Elephant (lol) can be a cold blooded killer! sure he looks goofy but let’s hope that he was picked to play the deadliest assassin there ever was for a reason!
